EVROPA ANTIQVA - Reenactment and experimental archaeology

The Evropa Antiqva

The Europantiqua group is an association finalized to study, experimentation, and the historical reenactment of ancient European people (as Gauls and German ones). Among the intended activities there are studying and spreading of ancient european’s peoples culture, both in social, military and crafting point of view. This  is make possible by the correct use of materials and creation and manifacture of items and weapons in the same way ancient people did.
All this is done to deeper understand the art of war and living as for the correct way of use of each item (both military and everyday’s life ones).
The Europantiqua association has distinguish itself in Italy by the important scientific contribution about military tecniques connected with  the local Gauls population. For this reason Europantiqua has received accademic acknowledgments.
The association take parts to the main festivals with an historic camp, composed by ancient tents. In this lifecamp the members of Europantiqua recreate different aspects of ancient life from the ancient craft, such as weaving and tablet weaving, clay crafting, leather working to natural fiber dyeing. Relevant is also the interest in the art of war, all the members of Europantiqua are training in open-field battles and formation manoeuvres

as in duel and tournament.
